The painting appeals to visible vices but especially to invisible ones as a theme of self expression. What is the limit between vice and him even with the curtain and what is called the popular taboo? Sexuality and sensuality explicitly expressed can be taboo?
How much we can express and to what extent we allow ourselves to say things by name. If you knew what I'm hiding, should you keep your mouth shut? What do we allow ourselves to talk about and what we keep just for ourselves? If I'm open to you I have to get my words and attitudes back because you could judge me? What's perverse to me is insulting to you? Or is it real desire?
I'm still thinking. I fire from the cigarette and I reflect on the above. One thing is for sure. Hard to get out of vice!
